Haji rang elahi & haji mahboob elahi foundation was established in august 1971, since then this foundation has funded and supported variuos health and educational projects. late dr. rizvi in routine did free eye surgical camps in rural areas of sind which were supported and funded by foundation. in 1985 it was proposed by him and dr.mukhtar that an eye hospital of tertiary level should be opened up in karachi to accommodate the growing health needs of this metropolitan city and rural areas of sind. construction of haji rang elahi eye & general hospital started in 1985 and this project was inaugurated in 1990. being a 53 bed hospital it was equipped with the most modern diagnostic and surgical tools.
